Rooms have dark floors, and dark ceilings, so light levels are low. Artificial room light is not well appointed. Room furnishing is 1980's style, out-dated and not very practical. The quitest rooms, at the rear, do not receive much natural light, but noisy rooms, close to the busy street in front of the hotel probably do. Bathroom decor is mainly black, with no natural light, has poor artificial lighting. It is especially difficult to see what you are doing in the mirror.
Top Tip
For better food, prices and service, avoid restaurants in the busiest regions. Don't judge by number of customers, or appearance. Plenty to do, use the guide bus tours to see what is available, and where it is. Buy a 10 trip pass to the metro and buses, to benefit from the excellent public transport system. This ticket can be bought at the airport train station, and is cheaper than a return ticket to Barcelona city centre. Can be combined with a guided bus tour ticket, to save even more.

Too far from centre, very noisy if you have a room at the front of the hotel. Very dark decor too many curtains and mirrors!
Very exspensive bar prices and charges 5 euros room service each time coffee was requested

Beware...breakfast is a lot more expensive than you think over 20 euros each so make the most of it. We learnt quickly and walked the short distance onto Ramblas off Catalunya and visited many places where breakfast was 10 euros per person.
Top Tip
Plenty to do, plan your trip well. The metro links are fantastic, on time and very reasonable. Trams and buses inexpensive too.

Very friendly and helpful concierge/reception staff. Very comfortable beds ensuring a good night's sleep! Close enough to The Ramblas without being right on top of it (about 5 mins walk). Very central location.
